>  **“It is better to live your own destiny imperfectly than to live an imitation of somebody else’s life with perfection”~***text from The Bhagavad Gita*

**Are you living your OWN life?**I think this is a question we ask ourselves in the silence of our minds,”*Am I truly living my own life*“? If asked that question by someone other than ourselves we will immediately answer* “Yes I am*“! **But are you really?**

We live in a world that motivates us to “*be like*” him or her, or *do this* because “they” do it. We find ourselves living in the shadows of what our parents think our lives should look like. When do you put your foot down and say “**STOP**“? Why is it so hard to say,” *this is my life and I choose to live it with all of its imperfections”? *

The time is now to embrace the imperfection that is **your life,** love all of your flaws and know that you are not alone on this journey. Once you make that choice you will live a much more authentic and full life.

I had a client who asked me to help with a psychology assignment; get several people to write down what they would change about their lives if they had it to do over. She gave me 24 hours to do this and I took it to heart. The next day she came by to collect my paper, which was blank. What I said was this, “*I looked back on my life and yes I have had my share of mistakes and imperfections, but those are the things that put me where I am today and I LIKE where I am! I would not change one thing.” *

So the question for you my dear readers is this, are you living your **OWN** destiny or someone else’s? Sit with this for awhile and let me hear your comments, imperfections and all!
